LAHORE, Feb 15 (APP):The Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO), in collaboration with Tehsildars (Recovery), has recovered more than Rs 105 million from 2,070 chronic de
faulters in its five districts – Lahore, Sheikhupura, Nankana Sahib, Kasur and Okara – on the 151st day of its recovery campaign.
A LESCO spokesman told the media here on Thursday that on the 151st day,
Chief Engineer O&M (T&G) Zafar Iqbal with the support of Tehs
ildar City Mujahid Zia and Tehs
ildar Shalimar Noreez Humayun recovered outstanding dues of Rs 21.40 million from 241 de
faulters in Northern Circle and Rs 21.07 million from 126 de
faulters in Eastern Circle respectively. Similarly, LESCO Manager (Material Disposal) Engineer Anwar Watto along with Tehs
ildar Model Town Rana Arsal and Tehs
ildar Cant. Sajjad Qureshi recovered Rs 16.30 million from 259 de
faulters in Central Circle, and Rs 7.54 million from 151 de
faulters in South Circle; while Manager (Technical) Engineer Muhammad Farooq with the assistance of Tehs
ildar Nankana Sahib Muhammad Iqbal Rasheed and Tehs
ildar Sheikhupura Muhammad Aslam Gujjar recovered Rs 0.35 million from 13 de
faulters in Nankana Circle and Rs 3.75 million from 63 de
faulters in Sheikhupura Circle. He added that LESCO Manager E&S (PMU) Engineer Abbas Ali in collaboration with Naib Tehs
ildar Kasur and Okara Mirza Zahid Baig recovered outstanding dues of Rs 15.97 million from 523 de
faulters in Okara Circle and Rs 19.18 million from 694 de
faulters in Kasur Circle.
Up till now during the recovery campaign, the LESCO with the help of Tehsildars (Recovery) recovered more than Rs 2.44 billion from 81,437 dead de
faulters in its all circles of operation. He elaborated that LESCO recovered outstanding dues of Rs 350.01 million from 11,461 de
faulters in Northern Circle; Rs 577.38 million from 10,437 de
faulters in Eastern Circle; Rs 330.65 million from 9,268 de
faulters in Central Circle; Rs 136.67 million from 4,776 de
faulters in South Circle, Rs 204.10 million from 7,146 de
faulters in Nankana Circle; Rs 358.20 million from 9,899 de
faulters in Sheikhupura Circle; Rs 156.03 million from 13,036 de
faulters in Okara Circle and Rs 335.95 million from 15,414 de
faulters in Kasur Circle.
For the recovery campaign started on September 13, the Lahore Division’s Commissioner had assigned additional charge of Tehs
ildar Recovery (from LESCO de
faulters) to relevant Tehsildar, while LESCO
Chief Executive Officer Engineer Shahid Haidar has also designated four senior officers to assist them in the dues recovery from de
faulters. LESCO
Chief Executive Officer Engineer Shahid Haider said that the company is facing loss due to dead de
faulters, and vowed to continue action against them.
